Description
This is a traditional Yantra for good fortune.
The forms:
Inside the square with gates in four directions (Bhopura), are 8 petals of a lotus flower around a circle. Inside the circle is a triangle on its base, which contains 9 smaller triangles on its apex, around a smaller triangle on its base again. Two swastikas going right and left are combined into a square enclosure of the yantra with gates opening in all four directions, which is an invitation to go towards the sacred centre or the bindu. The lotus represents the divine manifestation and expression. The lotus petals are in the shape of a heart and resemble the female Yoni. The circle represents the space and never-ending process of creation and destruction. The triangle on its base represents the male and the triple principles of creation. The triangle on its apex represents the feminine energy.
The numbers:
The 8 petals represent the perfection, good fortune, justice and balance and the octave of prakriti (5 elements and 3 gunas). The 9 triangles on its apex represent the 9 grahas. The 2 (triangles on its base) are considered the number for creation.
The colours:
Orange is considered the colour of courage, is warm, cheerful and calms down sensuality. The blue stimulates the nervous system. The green induces love and harmony. The white represents water and knowledge.
The combination of the above creates a yantra for good fortune!
