Description
Uruli (உருளி) is a traditional cookware extensievly used in the South Indian state of Kerala. Urulis were used in home for cooking and in ayurveda to make medicines. The large ones (varpul) are used for cooking for large gatherings, especially in temples. Now, Urulis are used as a decorative bowl to float flowers which is a part of South Indian tradion. With its shallow circular shape this vessel is also used to display the kani for the Malayalam New Year Vishu. ..This Uruli is filled with bright coloured fresh and aromatic roses to signify the joy of abundance, but with the spirit of sharing as done with the offerings at temples!
